Former NASA aerospace engineer and future Blue Origin astronaut Aisha Bowe has raised $2.5 million for LINGO, her EdTech company focused on enhancing STEM education.
This funding round, led by Pinnacle Private Ventures LLC, is a step towards a venture capital aimed at supporting women and minority-led startups.
Expanding Access to STEM Education
LINGO offers project-based coding kits and curricula designed for students aged 13 and up, covering subjects such as artificial intelligence, space systems, and environmental monitoring.
The funding will enable LINGO to expand its reach, scaling programs that are already used by institutions including General Dynamics Information Technology, Siemens Healthineers, Leidos, and Howard University.
“With 80% of future jobs requiring STEM skills, this investment helps us provide essential tools for students to thrive,” Bowe said in a press release.
“Closing this round empowers us to extend our reach, delivering essential STEM tools and inspiration to thousands more students and preparing them for success in a rapidly evolving world.”
Support From Key Investors
Pinnacle Private Ventures, a family office investment firm, led the funding with a focus on creating both financial and social impact.
“This investment aligns with our mission to support ventures that make a difference, particularly in education and diversity,” Sean McCurry, Pinnacle’s founder said.
Other participants in the round include 1863 Ventures and Sequoia Capital’s Scout program, signaling strong support for LINGO’s mission to bridge the education-industry gap.
Bowe, a serial entrepreneur, is also the founder and CEO of STEMBoard, an engineering firm specializing in professional advisory services for US Government organizations. STEMBoard has been twice recognized by Inc. 5000 as one of the fastest-growing companies in America.
